BioSpark Award
The BioSpark Award celebrates breakthrough innovation in biosciences, health innovation, life sciences, or pharmaceuticals that advances health, wellness, or scientific progress. This award recognizes both commercial ventures and research-driven innovation with potential to transform healthcare, diagnostics, therapeutics, or the life sciences sector in Manitoba.
Award Eligibility
To be eligible for the BioSpark Award, the nominee must:
Be based in Manitoba or have a significant operational presence in the province.
Be an individual, team, or company innovating in biosciences, pharmaceuticals, life sciences, or health technology.
Demonstrate innovation advancing health, wellness, or quality of life.
Have agreed to be nominated.
Judging Criteria
Judges for the BioSpark Award will evaluate nominees based on the following:
Scientific or technological innovation in the biosciences.
Evidence of health or wellness impact.
Potential for commercialization, scalability, or research translation.
Contribution to Manitoba’s position in life sciences innovation.

Nomination Requirements

Compelling Summary (max 650 characters) highlighting the nominee’s innovation and impact.

Detailed Nomination (max 3,000 characters) outlining achievements, significance, and measurable outcomes.

High resolution photo of the nominee or team.

Confirmation that the nominee has agreed to participate and understands that, if shortlisted, they will take part in a professional video profile.
