Research & Science Innovation Award
The Research & Science Innovation Award recognizes the groundbreaking work of individuals, teams and organizations across sciences, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and related research that moves beyond discovery to deliver meaningful real-world impact. This award celebrates knowledge mobilization, commercialization, or implementation of discoveries that improve lives, systems, or communities.
Award Eligibility
To be eligible for the Research & Science Innovation Award, the nominee must be an individual, team or organization whose work:
A novel or inventive contribution in any scientific field, including but not limited to life sciences, natural sciences, applied sciences, engineering, or health research.
Translates into market, clinical, or community value
Demonstrates measurable impact or strong potential for real-world application
Measurable outcomes or promising potential that contributes to societal well-being, industry advancement, or Manitoba’s broader innovation landscape.
Judging Criteria
Judges for the Research & Science Innovation Award will evaluate nominees based on the following:
The originality, ingenuity, and technical excellence behind the research or scientific breakthrough.
Demonstrated or potential impact on industry, health, the environment, society, or Manitoba’s innovation landscape.
The effectiveness of moving research from concept to practical use, including commercialization, implementation, or measurable community benefit (if applicable).
Evidence of leadership, interdisciplinary collaboration, mentorship, or contributions that advance Manitoba’s broader scientific and research ecosystem.

Compelling Summary (max 650 characters) highlighting the nominee’s innovation and impact.

Detailed Nomination (max 3,000 characters) outlining achievements, significance, and measurable outcomes.

High resolution photo of the nominee or team.

Confirmation that the nominee has agreed to participate and understands that, if shortlisted, they will take part in a professional video profile.
